Richard Sykes

-

Having grown up in the Hills of Perth I moved to Geraldton in 2004. Having initially followed my Father into a career in Agriculture I spent 10 years with the Dept. of Ag and then varying other roles before taking on a State Manager role with a GPS company that provided autosteer and guidance solutions to agriculture. After this role, I was given an opportunity to move into the financial sector and took on an Executive Relationship Manager position with the Commonwealth bank. After about a year was offered the opportunity to become the Regional Manager in Geraldton for the CBA and remained with the bank for around 4 years.

Since leaving the banking sector in 2012 I have been the CEO at the Panaceum Group which is a large multidiscipline medical practice in Geraldton and now also Karratha.

Over the last 10 years I have been privileged to be President of the Midwest Chamber of Commerce, Chair of the Pilbara Chronic Conditions Group, Chair of Goldhealth Trustees, as well as now being involved as Chair for Geraldton Community Energy

I am looking forward to growing GCE and it becoming a key supplier of energy in the Midwest which in turn will see savings in energy costs for our community as well as leading the push towards cleaner energy and climate change.
